Academic Coach | Tutor

Education & Background

Sarah is pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Psychology at George Mason University, with a concentration in motivation, learning, and cognition. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Oregon State University, where she worked as a teaching assistant, student-athlete tutor, and research assistant.These experiences sparked her interest in how students learn and what helps them succeed.

Executive Functioning and Academic & Tutoring

As a Learning Coach in George Mason’s Executive Functioning Program, Sarah helps students develop strategies for organization, time management, studying, motivation, and goal-setting. She also tutors fifth-grade students in language arts through the Tutors to Teachers program

.

Approach

Sarah draws on her background in the science of teaching and learning to help students build practical skills, confidence, and independence. Her approach emphasizes achievable goals, regular check-ins, and strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
