15+ Years in Applied Behavior Analysis

Shari has more than 15 years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She began her career in 2011 at the Neurobehavioral Unit at Kennedy Krieger Institute, working with individuals with severe behavioral challenges. While there, she earned her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Behavioral Assessment & Intervention

Shari specializes in functional assessment and the development of individualized behavioral interventions. Her work focuses on understanding the factors influencing behavior, reducing challenging behaviors, and building appropriate replacement skills that improve communication, independence, social functioning, and quality of life.

Autism & Developmental Disabilities

Since 2015, Shari has provided services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities in home, school, and community settings. Her clinical work includes developing behavioral, communication, functional, and social skills while helping coordinate services between families, schools, and treatment teams.

Clinical Leadership

Shari has held both clinical and leadership roles throughout her career. Her experience includes evaluating staff programming and client progress, reviewing functional behavioral assessments, individualized behavior plans, and skill acquisition treatment plans, as well as developing family training curricula.

School-Based Behavioral Support

Shari founded her own corporation providing ABA services to students throughout the school day. She has worked closely with students, parents, service providers, teachers, and school administrators to develop effective interventions and create consistency between home and school.

Licensure & Professional Credentials

Shari is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Licensed Behavior Analyst in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and New York. She also holds a credential as an Organizational Behavior Management Specialist.

Research & Professional Involvement

Shari is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International and the Maryland Association for Behavior Analysis. Her work has been published in professional behavioral journals, including the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and the Journal of Behavioral Education.

Focus & Approach

Shari’s work combines clinical expertise with a collaborative, individualized approach. She believes effective behavioral intervention requires understanding the needs of the whole child and creating practical strategies that can be implemented consistently across home and school.

By working closely with families, educators, and other professionals, Shari focuses on interventions that produce meaningful progress and help children develop the skills they need to succeed across environments.
