Shari Pincus Kattis has over 13 years of experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a scientifically proven approach to identifying environmental variables that influence socially significant behavior. She first became interested in ABA when she began working on the neurobehavioral inpatient unit (NBU) at The Kennedy Krieger Institute in 2011, where she worked with individuals with severe problem behaviors. Shari provides services focused specifically on the functional analysis and treatment of inappropriate behaviors and replacing them with socially acceptable behaviors, using individualized behavior strategies. While working at the NBU, she completed her Master’s in ABA at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

In 2015, Shari began providing insurance-based services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities in the home setting, where she fulfilled both clinical and leadership roles. Clinical roles included improving behavioral, communication, functional, and social skills for clients, as well as facilitating coordination between the home and school teams.

Shari’sl leadership roles focused on evaluating staff programming to ensure clients made meaningful progress, editing clinical documents (e.g., functional behavioral assessments, individualized behavior plans, and skill acquisition treatment plans), and developing family training curricula. Shari started her own corporation providing ABA services to students in the classroom throughout the school day. Shari has experience working closely with students, parents, service providers, teachers, and school administrators to identify the most effective interventions for student success, both at home and in the classroom.

Shari’s certifications include Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Licensed Behavior Analyst (Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and New York), and Organizational Behavior Management Specialist. She is a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International and the Maryland Association for Behavior Analysis. She has also been published in behavioral journals, including the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis and the Journal of Behavioral Education.

After having her first of two daughters, Shari moved from Maryland to New York.  In her free time, Shari enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.

Shari is excited to be a part of ERGGW team of exceptional professionals!
